"Scratch" is an introductory course in computer programming. This unique course is not offered in the Ontario curriculum. "Scratch" opens up the imagination to see the endless possibilities in the world of computers. It is designed to help kids gain skill in logical, mathematical, and critical thinking which helps them to make better decisions at home and at school. "Scratch" includes focused lessons on important skills such as how computers work, the fundamentals of programming, math, drawing and painting with graphics, playing sounds and music, animations, recording sound and pictures (requires laptop with working microphone and/or web-cam), designing games and puzzles and problem-solving. Kids learn by working on projects of their own choice with the help and guidance of an expert computer programmer and tutor.
