Two markers of contrasting colour Two long pieces of paper blank Small piece of paper Start by talking about the importance of Communication in the world and if age appropriate what types of communication there are. When you get to verbal communication talk about writing conventions and words as a way to keep everyone on the same page. |

Do the following. · Make a simple line maze on a piece of paper using up and down lines. Have your student do the same. If your student is older and can handle a bit of a challenge, don’t tell him to keep it simple. · Next, exchange mazes. · Establish language that you will both use to direct each other through your mazes and write this on the small piece of paper so you can refer. · The one doing the maze must close their eyes and the other participant must lead them through the maze they created simply through verbal communication. · Gauge frustration level be light hearted and express any difficulty you may be having. · Switch when finished · Talk about which was trickier, talking or following with eyes closed. |
