Publish Your Own Book

A 5-Week Writing & Publishing Program for Grades 3–8
We’re excited to introduce Publish Your Own Book, a small-group writing and publishing program designed for students in Grades 3–8 who are ready to turn their ideas into a real, published book.
Over the course of five weeks, students are guided step-by-step through the entire creative process — from brainstorming and story planning to writing, illustrating, and learning how books are published. This program is led by certified teachers and supported by a local author, ensuring students receive both expert instruction and real-world insight into the publishing process.

Throughout the program, students will:

• Brainstorm and develop original story ideas
• Plan characters, setting, and plot
• Write, revise, and edit their own book
• Create illustrations and design a cover
• Learn how the publishing process works
• Finish the program as a published author

Each student’s book will be professionally published. Families will have the option to order as many printed copies as they wish, and for a limited time, books will also be available for purchase on Amazon.ca — making this a meaningful keepsake for family and friends.

Program Details

• Grades: 3–8
• Format: 5 weeks
• Session Length: 90 minutes per week
• Schedule: Friday evenings, starting January 16
• Group Size: Small groups (maximum of 6 students)
• Location: Head of the Class Education Centre

Program Fee:

• $250 plus tax
