About Us
|
At Head of the Class, we’re proud to be a locally owned and operated tutoring centre in Windsor, Ontario. Since 2008, our experienced educators have been dedicated to supporting students of all abilities with personalized, one-on-one tutoring designed to meet each child’s unique needs.
We believe in a whole-child approach that goes beyond academics. Our programs integrate mindfulness, emotional regulation, social skills development, and executive functioning support to help children build confidence and resilience in school and life. As educators and neighbours, we know that success starts with strong relationships. That’s why we foster a warm, cozy, non-clinical environment that feels like a second home for students and families alike. We also offer parent coaching to empower families in creating routines and supportive learning environments at home. Whether your child needs help with reading, math, study skills, or managing ADHD and learning challenges, Head of the Class is here to provide compassionate, expert guidance every step of the way. |

Julie Fader
Owner/ Director Julie was born and raised in Windsor, Ontario, is a certified teacher with over 30 years of experience. Her passion for understanding and supporting children's learning needs stems from her own early struggles with a learning disability and anxiety disorder. Diagnosed during high school, these challenges spurred Julie's lifelong journey into mindfulness and educational training to overcome learning obstacles. Julie co-founded Head of the Class Education Centre in 2008 with her sister Heather Colomba, driven by a commitment to mindful learning and exceptional instruction. Her dedication is further reflected in her work with New ADDitudes Inc., a nonprofit she co-founded to support parents and educators of children with learning differences. Julie also achieved advanced training in Collaborative Problem Solving with Drs. Ross Greene and Stuart Ablon at Harvard University. Today, Julie's focus is on continuous professional development in pedagogy, learning differences, and growth mindset. She believes that children thrive in environments where they feel safe, their needs are met, and they receive unconditional positive regard from adults. |

Stewart
Head of Pawsitivity Stewart is our golden retriever and beloved four-legged team member at Head of the Class. With his gentle spirit and calm presence, he has a special way of bringing comfort, joy, and encouragement to everyone who walks through our doors. Whether he’s greeting students with a wag, curling up quietly during a session, or offering an unexpected cuddle break, Stewart helps create the warm and welcoming environment our centre is known for. He takes his role as Head of Pawsitivity very seriously — supporting students with stress relief, emotional regulation, and a reminder to slow down and enjoy the simple things. Stewart’s love and influence now extend beyond the centre through the Paw-sitively Stewart children’s book series, where his adventures inspire kids to discover confidence, joy, and the power of learning. These stories celebrate Stewart’s unique gift for making every child feel seen, supported, and capable of greatness. We are so lucky to have Stewart as part of both our HOTC family — and now in print — sharing his pawsitive energy with families everywhere. |
